Anemia Toolkit

In 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced in 2021 a commitment to develop a comprehensive framework for integrated action on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of anemia and to establish an Anaemia Action Alliance to support the implementation of the framework. WHO commissioned four background papers to reflect on the most pressing issues for practitioners to address for accelerating reductions in the prevalence of anemia. Here, we provide a complete vision of the framework.
Anemia Toolkit

This document is an output of a World Health Organization cross-program initiative aiming to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and management of anaemia and thereby accelerate reduction of its prevalence. This framework is based on the core principles of primary health care: meeting people’s health needs through comprehensive promotive, protective, curative, and rehabilitative care along the life course; systematically addressing the broader determinants of health; and empowering individuals, families, and communities to optimize their health.

USAID Nutrition Resource Hub

This study reviewed two poultry projects in Bangladesh and documented lessons learned, gaps, and recommendations for integrating nutrition in agricultural interventions and delivering nutrition-sensitive agriculture. The study looked at how the projects integrated nutrition into agriculture extension services, what approaches were used, what the main nutrition-sensitive interventions were, what capacity building/development and training was carried out, and what perceptions among staff and beneficiaries were regarding the impact of the project.

This training package aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills of health workers to collect, compile, and report timely, complete, and quality nutrition data, and the importance of quality data for evidence-based decision making. Quality data and the capacity to use them will greatly improve coverage and delivery of nutrition services based on informed decision making, thus contributing to elimination of malnutrition. The package includes a facilitator manual, a reference manual, and several PowerPoint presentations.
