This knowledge enables teams to make informed marketing decisions, create strong marketing campaigns, and diagnose and solve marketing challenges. The guide is grounded in real-world experiences. It combines social and commercial marketing best practices with firsthand experience—challenges and solutions—from partners who are actively working to improve nutrition outcomes by creating demand for healthy diets.

High-quality social and behavior change (SBC) design requires multiple steps, beginning with prioritizing behaviors. After prioritizing behaviors and conducting a desk review and formative research (if necessary), nutrition SBC programmers can use this tool to organize and distill the findings into an evidence-based SBC strategy that leads to optimal nutrition behaviors.

This tool can also be used to identify factors to measure to ensure programs are making progress toward optimal nutrition behaviors.
