Sustainability and Scalability of Egg Consumption in Burkina Faso for Infant and Young Child Feeding
Mothers who received the Un Oeuf intervention overcame barriers to feeding their child an egg every day, improved their livelihoods, demonstrated motivation to continue feeding their child eggs, and saw the addition of eggs as sustainable. Research to explore the number of household chickens necessary to continuously feed a child one egg per day is important.

The cost of mass media breastfeeding interventions per mother ranged from 0.13 USD in Bangladesh to 0.85 USD in Burkina Faso. Evaluations showed that these interventions had high coverage and frequent exposure.

Integrating nutrition into the polio immunization platform is feasible and cost-effective, does not hinder immunization coverage rates, and may improve nutrition behaviors. Increasing the availability and quality of nutrition data is important to measure progress towards global nutrition goals. There are opportunities to leverage existing data collection platforms, especially within the health system, to collect nutrition data for this purpose. Over the last several years, the nutrition community has come together to promote this objective, enabling the collection of nutrition data through routine health information systems and health facility assessments.
