In February 2023, a workshop convened key stakeholders in Niger to develop recommendations and guidelines to improve access to vitamin A and iron-folic acid in health facilities.

The IYCF-E Toolkit was designed to promote best practice and rapid implementation of infant and young child feeding in emergencies. The toolkit aims to meet the needs of emergency nutrition program managers, coordinators, and advisors who are responsible for program design, implementation and management of infant and young children in emergencies (IYCF-E) programs.

This brief focuses on the pathway from agricultural income to better diets, health, and nutrition. However, all of the pathways are interrelated. Agricultural activities typically affect more than one pathway and interact with the enabling environment that includes policies, the natural resource base, and cultural practices, among other factors. The agricultural income pathway is not linear; the effect of income on diet, health, and nutrition has several modifiers.

In this study, researchers analyzed approaches used by World Vision Zimbabwe and partners (WVZP) to strengthen resilience against drought, climate change, and other climatic shocks that exert pressure on Zimbabwe’s economy, which relies heavily on rain-fed agriculture. Qualitative methods involved focus group discussions with communities and government and development partner officials. The quantitative method used was a quasi-experimental impact assessment design to capture the impacts of the WVZP on selected outcomes.

This Microsoft Excel-based application estimates the costs of establishing, maintaining, and/or expanding services for community-based management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) at the national, subnational, and district levels. This information helps program managers determine whether their plans for CMAM are financially feasible, identify the resources needed, and formulate an effective implementation plan. (Note that this tool deals only with the management of severe acute malnutrition.)

This monitoring and supervision tool was largely developed to monitor the integration of food and nutrition security and early childhood development issues (with an emphasis on communicating and playing with children) into community development programming in Uganda. The tool will be used by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development to follow up on progress, by documenting and learning from experiences, and to help strengthen planning and implementation of community development programs.
