This program brief describes a set of approaches to strengthen maternal nutrition counseling. It establishes an understanding the context, including the barriers and enablers to maternal nutrition counseling services and the adoption of optimal nutrition practices, of approaches to improve the enabling environment for maternal nutrition counseling, of key considerations for the design of counseling services, and of strategies for strengthening service delivery platforms and building the capacity of health workers and community health workers, among others.
