In the late 1960's, when the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) began to invest in nutrition, work on nutrition in an international context was just beginning, with little known about the causes, consequences, and solutions for undernutrition. Since then, there has been much improvement in nutrition globally. Through close collaboration with partners, host-country governments, and the nutrition community as a whole, USAID has been a key contributor to this progress.
On June 25, 2019, USAID launched a new resource showcasing the Agency's support for various nutrition focus areas, related research, vulnerable populations, and programming approaches over the past 50 years. This resource offers insights and lessons learned that can help inform ongoing and future efforts to improve nutrition. This event featured both current and former USAID and partner staff who shared stories and discussed lessons learned for the future.
