Marily Knieriemen has an undergraduate degree in French and a master’s degree in international development administration. She taught English as a Foreign Language as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon and as a Second Language to refugees in Minnesota before starting her career in international development. She has worked with several international NGOs (Helen Keller International, CARE, Lutheran World Relief, Mercy Corps, and SNV) and the U.S. Peace Corps. Her experience includes work in nine countries of Africa, with much of that time in the Sahel-including 16 years in Niger. Marily considers herself a “proud generalist” having worked with projects in a variety of sectors but has worked most with the health sector - especially in nutrition, child survival, family planning and, neglected tropical diseases. Outside of work, Marily enjoys swimming and playing keyboard with a church choir.
