Overview

The Domestic Violence Module in the India National Family Health survey measures women’s experience of physical, sexual, and emotional violence. It also asks about physical consequences of violence. Then it asks if the woman has been violent to her husband, and asks about previous husbands.

Scoring and Interpretation

The proportions of women reporting violence in the past 12 months and ever experienced are scored by type of violence: physical, emotional, or sexual in nature.
