Overview
The index assesses three areas of stress in the parent–child relationship: (a) child characteristics, (b) parent characteristics, and (c) stress stemming from situational or demographic conditions.
Scoring and Interpretation
Items are scored using the following 5-point scale: (1) SA (Strongly Agree), (2) A (Agree), (3) NS (Not Sure), (4) D (Disagree), (5) SD (Strongly Disagree). For life stress items, reporters indicate whether the events have occurred (Yes/No) in the past 12 months.
